Qualifying on a crisp clear morning was a close event. Tyres are proving to be a crucial part of race strategy this weekend so Judd watched and waited whilst the field tested the track. Judd knew he had to put in a good time as quick as possible then get off his tyres to ensure his tyres would hold up for the two twenty one lap races the following day. After 4 laps he was back in the pits with 55.9 and the lead.
